We are committed to supporting your exotic companion through every stage of life. From routine wellness care and nutritional guidance for young pets to ongoing health monitoring as they mature, our goal is to help prevent illness and identify concerns early. We understand that exotic pets are cherished members of the family, and we strive to provide compassionate, high-quality care throughout their lives.

Regular wellness examinations are an important part of maintaining your pet's health. Because exotic animals are skilled at hiding signs of illness, routine checkups allow us to monitor their overall well-being and detect potential problems before they become more serious. During these visits, we establish important baseline health information and discuss husbandry, nutrition, behavior, and any concerns you may have.

Why are wellness exams important?

Wellness exams give us the opportunity to evaluate your pet's overall health while becoming familiar with their unique needs and normal behaviors. These visits can help identify health issues early, often before visible symptoms develop. They also help your pet become more comfortable with veterinary visits, making future appointments less stressful for both you and your companion.

When should my exotic pet visit the veterinarian?

We believe preventive care is the best way to keep exotic pets healthy. Annual wellness examinations are recommended for most species, and some pets may benefit from more frequent visits depending on their age, health status, or species-specific needs. During your visit, our veterinary team will discuss appropriate preventive care, dietary recommendations, habitat requirements, and any screening tests that may benefit your pet.

What happens during a wellness exam?

During a wellness examination, our team will assess your pet's overall condition, including weight, body condition, and other important health indicators. A thorough physical examination will be performed, and diagnostic testing may be recommended when appropriate. Depending on the species and individual pet, this may include blood work, fecal testing, or other screenings to help evaluate internal health.

Wellness exams are designed to help us monitor your pet's health and establish baseline values while they are healthy. This information allows us to recognize changes more quickly if illness develops in the future. Early detection and treatment of medical concerns can play a significant role in helping your exotic companion enjoy a longer, healthier, and more active life.
